I’m a CS and bioinformatics student thinking about many things including mechanistic interpretability, AI, drug discovery and transit.
I am operating under the “work with the garage door up” philosophy inspired by Andy Matuschak (who was inspired by Robin Sloan, see link). I believe this is overall a net benefit for myself and readers who will be able to watch someone learning things as they go instead of only seeing fully-formed thoughts once I’ve already figured everything out. The costs of this are that I don’t get to look as capable as I would otherwise and things aren’t as polished as they could be, but I’m willing to give up those things.
